Wheelchair ramps for listed buildings
We are often approached by owners or estate managers of listed buildings who need to provide wheelchair access but can’t alter the aesthetics of the listed building.
When this happens we tend to recommend lightweight portable wheelchair ramps that can be used as an auxiliary aid, rather than permanent obtrusive ramp systems.
The portable ramps are not ideal, but are generally seen as a reasonable adjustment and provided staff are at hand and the availability of a wheelchair ramp is clearly indicated they are seen as better than nothing.
The portable wheelchair ramps most suitable for listed buildings are usually the Aerolight Extras, as they are lightweight, easy to handle, quick to set up and are nice and compact and fold in half when not in use.
