  • Hold the material in front of your face with one end on your left earlobe
  • Take over end of the material to your right earlobe
  • Mark the material where it meets your right earlobe
  • Measure from edge of material to the mark you have marked
  • Using this measurement mark the other end of the material
  • Draw line between 2 marks
  • Cut along line
  • Fold material corner to corner (like you used to do when playing cowboys and Indians)
  • Punch hole in left side of material 18mm from the edge
  • Punch hole in right side of materials 18mm from the edge
  • Hold back in front of face with left hole near left ear lobe, right hole near right ear lobe
  • Call assistant (you may have to shout due to the material in front of your face)
  • Ask assistant to tie a knot (big enough so it wont pull through the hole in the material) in one end of the string (cut of loose hanging bits)
  • Ask assistant to thread the string (opposite end to the knot) through the hole in the material
  • Ask assistant to pull tight so knot is firmly against material
  • Ask assistant to take string round the back of your head to the hole in the material near right ear lobe
  • Ask assistant to thread string through the hole in the material near right ear lobe
  • Ask assistant to pull reasonably tight
  • Ask assistant to tie off string
  • Ask assistant to cut off loose string ends (you don’t want to look stupid walking around with loose string hanging off your Coronavirus Mask)
  • Adjust material so it is covering your mouth and face but is comfortable
